PowerToys Workspaces Lets You Arrange Your Apps In A Specific Layout
Published:

In order to migrate and consolidate all of my old content onto this website, I need to arrange my desktop in a specific way. More specifically, I need
- VS Code with the current repo of this site,
- Windows Explorer in case I need to navigate to a specific directory quickly,
- VS Code with the old versions of this site to take advantage of its text search and,
- Everything to search for specific files in the old sites’ directory.
On top of these windows, I need the first app to be on my main monitor and the other three on my secondary screen. Setting this up can take some time but that’s where PowerToy’s Workspaces come in.
You start by capturing your current layout from which you can rearrange the Windows and modify the apps launch command. Once you’re done, you can give it a name and even make it a desktop shortcut. Having sone all that, you can now open your much needed Workspaces quickly.
