Now

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my /now page and I have a few updates.

Firstly, I’ve moved to a new domain, ffg.co.zw from farai.xyz which has served me well these past five years. As for why, it boils down to the fact that I can get a short¹ domain for a good price through my country’s domain registrar. I’m also worried about how dependent tech is on the US and I want to take steps to mitigate that. While the xyz TLD is managed in the UK, I registered the domain on Namecheap based in the US.

With a new domain comes with yet another website redesign―redesign 114 to be exact. I’m hoping that this iteration of my personal website will be done properly by consolidating all of my old work and organizing it properly instead of treating it as a fidget spinner/coping mechanism/worry stone like I usually do. The general idea will be on the post Bikeshedding Must Fall which I need to update.

As for work, it is quite stressful but I got more money and an assistant now. This is great but that means I have more responsibilities now damnit. Also, I’m way behind since I was caught up with this huge issue. It’s behind me now but now there are a lot of other things to do. Firstly is figuring out payments. I’m half way through but it turns out that there’s a lot of other things I need to do to make a usable payment experience. I also need to integrate another payment processor. Once that’s done, I need to integrate my work elsewhere.

Right now, I’ve been watching a lot of House M.D which is a fantastic show. The episodes are formulaic but entertaining.

On another note, I’m thinking of making this page a section so I can have a history of sorts, kinda like how Tom MacWright writes his “Recently” Posts.
